super heroes

luca's buddy graham run/walks in an annual all ability race, CanDo.  the past few years, he has asked luca to join.  and as luca says to me, "of course i'll go mom. graham always supports and i will always support him.  that's what friends do for each other".
so off they went again this year, dressed as super heroes, and luca wearing the cape that aaron made for him a very long time ago.  the race was pretty awesome, i'm told, with graham coming in FIRST. luca behind in second...i think everybody was pretty excited about the efforts!

an erbeck in the leader's jersey

while true and i were sidelined with a spring cold, the other erbecks to racing anyway.  it proved to be a difficult night, including a lost luca with tears streaming down his face, but ended in another week of wearing the leader's jersey.  this kid loves his *new* bike, and apparently, he loves color.
lots of it.

little racer dude

luca got a big bike upgrade (shocking, i know!).  and he rallied that thing at the season opener for racing last week-  our local online paper did a little story:

Wednesday Night Worlds

you'll see a familiar face, and certain 8 year old who is currently sitting in first place...

saying goodbye

i moved my office location today at work.  it's just down the hall.  the move forced me to look through all of my "stuff", 14 years worth, which is a lot!  i had misc art and mom's day items from the kids all over and today i decided it was OK to pack them up.  here's a photo, so i can look at them and shed some tears every now and then.  i love each gift, each drawing that true and luca have given to me. they have always gifted me so proudly, so happy to make me smile.  it's absolutely charming, and huge parenting reward.

a new era

worth documenting.

my older son sends me emails now.
he also does his projects/homework in google docs, then shares with me so i can print them.
the days of pens and stencils are gone gone gone.
and it's so awesome.
