everybody dance now!

the annual greenwood elementary class dance performance never fails to be a hit!  i never fail to cry!
i love love love watching all the kids just pour their hearts into these dance performances.  it's just one of the best nights of the year.
luca told me he had to dress like a rock star for his performance....so i'm thinking sunglasses and dark colors, but he had other plans in mind-

yep, luca says rock stars dress is bright colors and lots of it...so he threw on as much color as he could.  what can i say?  he looks adorable.
true said he was supposed to dress in black and white....so the closet thing we could come up with a white tshirt with dark blue jeans.  but, when it came time for the evening dance performance true decided he needed to be dressier.  at our house, this means a shirt with buttons.  he looked, of course, handsome.

true, getting his vogue on.

luca, i gotta feeling

i don't know if he is stoked beyond belief, or terrified.  likely stoked, knowing him.

bring it 2016!

amazingly, amazingly, aaron and i found ourselves awake and at a new year celebration.  at. a. bar. for real!  we were invited to spend the holiday weekend with friends at alpental, and that is something we could not turn down.  lots of laughing, too much cheer, and great snow.

dick's for dinner. a christmas tradition

of course we went to dick's for christmas eve dinner!  it's one of our favorite traditions- and least expensive!  we have to rally pretty early, as of course the dick's crew wants to get home to their families too.  but an early dinner means we get to enjoy so much more of the evening!
as usual, we laid out table cloths, napkins, candles.  as usual, we all dressed up.  as usual, nobody even gave us a second glance!

after dick's we were off to peter's party and then to home  pretty darn early, as the kids noticed santa was already in california (santa tracker by NORAD).  they did not want to be awake if ol'kris kingle showed at the door for they know that santa only comes to houses where the kids are asleep.
christmas morning was full of fun and cheer, and we enjoyed a low key year.  dinner at lincoln and nicola's was the highlight-  such a lovely house, a great spread of food, and so much fun with our family- by blood, by marriage and by long time friendships.  i really did find such joy in the day as i looked at my life, my family, my friends, the city i live in.  we are fortunate.
