luca decided he did not like recess any more because he did not like a certain boy that dominated all the games.  so i told him to start playing with the girls. in particular, hazel and her friends.
and hazel's mom sends me these photos from recess today:

i think it's cute that he took my advice!

Passover 2015

As Aaron noted, Passover for this non-Jewish family is sort of just a fun event at Peter's house.  We get to drink wine, the kids get to squirm through the ceremony, only to be rewarded with a gift from Peter.  Well, this year, it seems like we all took things a little more seriously.  We listened to the readings, we were moved by the words, and we felt like we were part of something grander than ourselves.  Aaron and I were both filled with nachas-  overwhelmingly so, when our youngest son opened the ceremony with the question, "Why is this night different from all other nights?"  And then True, who read so eloquently and with enthusiasm, to a table full of adults, pronouncing words that were beyond my own skill level.  The Haggadah does not flow easily, and translated to English, the cadence is almost awkward.  Yet True made it sound lovely, and we were filled with nachas.
The Nook reader for True, and the remote control helicopter for Luca were probably the most perfect gifts that Peter could have given.  True was in awe, Luca completely delighted.  This Passover will not easily be forgotten....
These Erbecks have come a long way....
