party for two

luca and i had the rare opportunity to be together...just us.  we gave ourselves a party at cupcake royale, and then burned off the calories while playing at salmon bay park.  we hit the zip line, the swings, the slides, the bouncer things, and played follow the leader. when we were tired of all that fun, we went grocery shopping together.  our local organic grocery store, PCC, gives a piece of (free) fruit to children while they are shopping with their parents, so this is where luca wanted to go.  he chose a pink lady apple and politely shared it with me.   it was such a simple afternoon, yet it will be so memorable for me.

a mother's dream

i love that true takes the time to do small things that makes being his mom so awesome.  he was sure to tell me that he didn't pick the flowers but found them on the ground, so i didn't have to worry that they died.

soccer mom

i am officially a soccer mom...and a gymnastics mom.  true is on a team with his good friend enzo, and luca is taking a gymnastics class all by himself!   last night was the first class for both kids, and they both were no less than awesome! it's great to have them involved in something outside of school, and independent of each other.  here's to many years of standing in the rain and cheering them on, or sitting in the bleachers, biting my nails as they fly through the air.

the baker

while i was busy "resting my eyes", true was pretty busy making me cookies.  i'd hear him sneak into my bedroom, then run out, only to sneak back in a few minutes later.  he filled my nightstand with delicious playdough cookies (thanks to Heidi D for awesome homemade playdough!  the kids love it!).

happy st patrick's day!

luca had fun at his st. patrick's day school party!

full house, empty blog!

i have zero recent pics of the kids doing cool know why?  grandpa erbeck is here and the kids are glued to his side.  they come home from school, bypass me, head right down to the playroom to hang out with grandpa.  they emerge to eat and go to bed...other than that, mom doesn't matter too much to them!  it's been kinda fun!
