the Zoo!

looks like aaron took True and Enzo to the zoo today. the weather is relatively cool with some sprinkles, so it was probably a great time to be at the zoo (read=no crowds). we're lucky enough to live just 30 blocks away- a quick bus ride (which the boys love) and they're there.

Super Super Model

hey, regarding yesterday's post, this is the link you should really check out...more pics of aaron!

http://www.rapha.cc/index.php?page=568

i love the IF jersey....and aaron now owns one. it actually fits even with my ginormous belly. but i would never wear it, for fear of stretching it out, even though it matches my IF road bike. not me, nope i would NEVER wear any of aaron's super nice, well constructed, cool looking rapha gear.

Ride Your Trike

True loves riding his trike (thank you August for passing it down to us!). I think True is ready to come out and do a little kid race, Aaron thinks it is too early. Aaron is probably right, and I don't want to be one of those moms who push their kids too hard, so I'll back off. For now.

Serafina

Aaron and I ended up at Serafina last night for our anniversary dinner. We had been to this spot before with the Keelings, so we knew it would be great. They have a lovely patio for outdoor dining and we scored a spot there! The weather was perfect- warm with a little breeze. I'm always cold, so the addition of the gas heater next to us was an added bonus.

Aaron warmed up with a manhattan. I had a virgin mojito (didn't know those were possible, did ya?). Aaron had prosciutto wrapped apricots for an appetizer, I had butternut squash soup. We were both pleased! We both ordered a glass of wine, me to drink only half, but I didn't like it, so Aaron drank mine too. He ended up ordering me a glass of something else that I ended up flipping for! Oh how I miss fine wine! On to the entrees....Aaron eats meat when we go out, mostly because I can't stand the smell of it in the kitchen. Last night he had a 3 meat lasagna, which sent him over the moon. I had the chantrelle mushroom pasta and we were both amazed that I easily ate every last bite (portions are well sized at Serafina). Desert was chocolate grappa cake and because we are gluttons, strawberry semifreddo with balsamic glaze. Yum!

We lingered for a while at our lovely table, but were eager to get back and relieve our teenage neighbor of her babysitting duties. Molly has a full schedule with her academic studies and extra curricular activities, so we knew she'd be on the couch studying, but eager to get home. She was, and was. We sent her off with some lemon cake from Serafina and proceeded to True's room to watch him in slumber. He's just so unbelievably adorable to us, even when he's not in entertainment mode.

Then...after everybody had settled into bed....it hit.....PREGNANCY HEARTBURN!!! I'm telling you now, this was the worst heartburn ever, to the point that I was in tears and had to attempt sleep propped up against the wall. To date, this has been my only difficulty in pregnancy, so I'll shut up and be happy that in general, I'm feeling fantastic.
Did I mention how much I love my husband and the fact that I'm married to him?

3 year Anniversary!

Do you recognize the picture above? It's the photo (Scott Keiper photo credit) that we used for our "Save the Date" card...3 years ago! I have to give Heather Keeling credit for today's blog idea, a direct rip off of her blog on July 9th, her 3 yr anniversary with Greg. Wow, this is the second time this month that I have plagiarized Heather's blog!

Aaron was up and out the door at 5:30am this morning for his workout, but he left me a super sweet card and a present. A new bike light! Now, it may not be earrings, or a necklace, or anything like that...but it is shiny, bright and pretty! I know there is somebody out there who is jealous!

And if you think a bike light is an unromantic gift....you should hear what I got him (underwear). Sometimes, you just have to play it practical.

At least we'll have some romance at dinner tonite (I hope). Our neighbor is watching True and we'll hopefully have a fantastic dinner.

Keeling Twins

is it ok to blog about a blog without actually adding any content? in other words, here's the link, go check out True holding Maggie. he's getting some practice in before his brother arrives.

catching up with the keelings was great. we just don't see them enough and we live in the same damn town! i'm consistently amazed by heather, who looks fantastic and seems to have endless energy. she's impressive, that's for certain.

hey heather, let's go escape and go get a spa treatment soon...

flowers!

my sweet, sweet husband came home last night after races with a bouquet of flowers, just for me. i was in bed reading and he brought them down in a vase and placed them next to me. i panicked...crap, did i forget our anniversary? no, thankfully, i had not blown that one yet. i racked my brain for info, but could come up with nothing. i turned my head sideways and said why?

aaron shrugged his shoulders and said, "because it's wednesday... because i felt like it... just because."

how completely cool is that?!
